Hello lads. I got my iPod touch 2g yesterday and as I've always been concerned about battery usage on my previous iPods (1st, 2nd and 3rd gen Nano) I need to ask this.

I've googled a lot about this but I couldn't find any substantial info covering this, so:

I use it mostly at home, and I have a WLAN available at home, actually, in my own room, so the signal is always excellent. My question is: will leaving wi-fi turned on drain much more energy than normal, if it'll be permanently connected and not looking for other networks?

And does the wi-fi turn off automatically after it enters sleep mode?! If so, how long does it take to be shut down?

And lastly, I set my email to fetch hourly, but if I turn off my wifi manually, will it connect to my network just to fetch the emails and turn off again? Or it will only work if I leave my Wifi on all the time?!

Thank you very much! Am loving my new gadget!!!
