Is there a way to remove the battery once it dies? also how long should it last before it needs to be replaced?

The battery of the iPod is not easily replaceable.

If your iPod is still under warranty, you can have it replace for free (plus shipping I believe), but if it isn't this is Apple's plan http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/

Additionally, I'm not sure about other stores, but Best Buy's 3 year warranty covers replacing batteries.

BTW, none of these will actually take out your iPod's battery and put a new one it, they'll just give you a new iPod...

You will need to downgrade to 1.1.1 to jailbreak.

What does that have to do with anything? Is that the one thing that you know about the iPod, so you feel it is necessary to answer all questions with it

    Because he annoys me.

I think the mods would be best to lock this thread because nothing constructive is going to come out of it.
