Cucusoft iPod Video Converter is the greatest video converter I've ever use. It supports batch video conversion as you requested. You can try it for free at Aniosoft Download Center. Hope this helps!

Without a Doubt, if you're impatient: iPodME

But if you are patient and can open one file at a time to put into a Queue: Xvid4PSP This is for if you want to control the quality of the videos.

If you want to just convert a lot quick & dirty, not caring that much about quality, go for iPodME.

If you care about quality a lot, you can do it with Xvid4PSP.

Both can do several files at a time.

Both are Free. No Shareware. No Trial.

    MPEG Streamclip

It will convert almost any codec.
You can edit or strip out any audio or video.
You can manually set any type of aspect ratio or screen dimensions .
YOu can batch as many files as you want.

    IT IS FREE!

There is no better that I found including those listed by those above.

If you wish to stream to your iPod from a server via wifi then think about AIR VIDEO

it will batch convert, you add each and it will make a que and do then in the background.

You may also watch with on the fly conversion.

it is an appstore app, that is free or $.99 and a daemon for your server which is free.
