I upgraded today on a 2nd Gen iPod Touch, and noticed the bass booster EQ seems way less harsh and delivers cleaner bass with less distortion.
In fact using bassier EQ setting apart from 'off' seems to lower the preamp (something some peeps used to do manually before to their mp3 files in order to use the bass booster)

Can anyone else notice this or is it just me?

My iPhone 3GS still sounds terrible with EQs, depends on the heaphones but because I have such fantastic IEMs( in my sig) using any EQ makes something sound bad somewhere in the spectrum. Never liked iPod EQs, they generally suck unless you're using rockbox.

EQ's arent helpful. They don't do much difference and they drain battery.

If you have bad headphones treble booster sometimes helps, if you have good headphones then EQs make a huge difference in a bad way.
