Hey Just a little note here.. i bought a 16g iTouch and man the wifi would barely pick up my internet, i basicly had to sit next to the router. I dropped it and it broke.. I returned it. I have since bought a new 8g itouch.. now not only am I getting a very strong singal.. i am picking up 5 others from my neighbors. So maybe the problem isn't with your connection... just a thought

I highly doubt that the 8gb iPod has a better antennae then the 16gb. More likely, your 16gb just had a faulty one.

Might just be Apple. My iMac (Intel) also picks up Wi-Fi signals that I've never seen from my wireless router... And they're only 4 feet apart...

Has nothing to do with Apple or your router, it has to do with the wireless adapter inside your iMac. It's not only picking up the signal your router is broadcasting, but also the signals from around you. So the other signals you see in your wireless connection list are coming from your neighbours routers.

I'm also one of those people who have excellent results with the Touch wi-fi. I have been puzzled by people here complaining theirs can't get anything. I have a Dell Axim handheld and it's deaf by comparison. Even my laptop has significantly lower sensitivity to signals.

I doubt the problem was with the iPod Touch 16 GB. Probably something was interfering with your routers signal.

    absolute nonsence!

my 16gb iPod touch picks up everyones router within 100metres. I have a sony vaio and it picks up the same networks.

Just face it, you had a dodgy iPod!

And now you have swapped it for a 8gb model...
