I was downloading a windows update, then I restarted my computer....

It didn't boot, and I couldn't recover any data with the windows disc (no linux live cd)

Recently, I downloaded vistaosx, and restarted,

it gave me a blank boot screen with a mouse, no startup....

booted into ubuntu live disc, deleted the theme and restored to a previous state with all my data

i have a refurb imac (aluminium), it kinda broke - when i turrned down the brightness or when it automatically dimmed the screen it would make this terrible humming/buzzing noise. I sent it to apple to be repaired and they needed to replace the screen, logic board, power supply and a few more things so it was like having a new computer again. Not putting anybody buying a refurb mac, cus they are great =]

Well, I've got two free second-hand laptops than can only boot/respond if heavy pressure is applied to the bottom left panel. It's a known error with HP Compaqs.

rofl, i started up my pc, and everything was like

.exe doesn't work anymore, blabla, i couldn't do anything, so i had to restore to factory setting by pushing ALT GR + F10 , [acer], and everythings back to normal
