instead of using pkgbackup or something like that can i just copy every thing from ssh onto my computer and then put it back after a restore?

Wouldn't that be a pointless restore(unless there is a problem with the firmware)?

Its called ghosting, or duplicating your HDD, I wouldnt reccomend it, although, I think its possible through DiskAid.

... or was it iPhone browser?

Either way, it would take extremely long and restoring is a huge hassle compared to backing up. And I dont even think restoring is possible on 3.0.

It used to be in the 1.1 days thoughh...
