How do I back up all of my apps from my 1.1.3 to my 1.1.4?

I think I might have to SSH in and copy them all into a folder on my computer. Then when I upgrade to 1.1.4 I ssh again and copy it all back in and set the permutations to 775, but first of all I'm not sure if thats what I need to do its just my guess so I'm trying to make sure what I have to do.

Also how would I copy then back in using CuteFTP pro 8.0

to copy the applications back in, you need to copy them back into the applications folder, but then you have to install the apps. and that i dont know how to do. i think you have to run some commands to install manually, but i dont know how to do that. sorry.

ps. for you to be able to add your apps back into your ipod, your ipod must be jailbroken first.

You'll probably find it easier to just install the apps again via Installer. They may have been updated, which would require Installer, anyway. I was thinking like you, wanting to back up my apps and SSH them in. Then I realized that isn't any faster since SSH is pretty much the same speed as Installer using the wifi.

If you have Prefs or game ROMs or other support for apps, you can SSH those back into the proper places. So I would back up your Library folder and parts of your Media folder, depending on what apps you have now.
