Backing Up Ipod

    Why does my itunes back up my ipod everytime i try to sync it? It takes forever and i don't think it serves a purpose.....does anyone elses do this?

    Yeh Marn , I get this, It Jus goes Extremlly slow its pathetic!
    Its Just laughing as it slowly goes up that bar, while your stressing outttt bcoz you wanna pay your new game!

    does anyone know how to disable backups of iPods?

    ok yall no reason to disable backups that will just be really frustrating if you need to ever restore. (but if you do want to stop the backups all you do is click the x next to the part that says backing up "iPod". i have posted another answer to this problem of long backups and i hope it works for you: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80924&highlight=backups
    anyway for your explanation of backups: they simply store information about your saved games and such from your apps. as i said, it could be important if you want to restore for any reason.

    faster and faster

    Hi.. I have a 32g and at first the backups took over 1 x hour to complete, then about 20 x minutes, then 5 x minutes, now they take about 2 x minutes....

    I think that if you let the backups alone they will go faster and faster.
