How do you browse the IPSW file? According to "cdevwill" backgrounding can be enabled on the 2G iPod touch and iPhone 3G by simply editing "N82AP.plist" and changing "multitasking" from "FALSE" to "TRUE". I was wondering if you can find the file in the IPSW file and repackage it without jail breaking?

i do not think you will be able to enable multitasking on the 3g and 2g because i mean the ipod touch 3g ipsw is 353mb and the ipod touch 2g is only 300mb, something is missing

Hmmm, how do you browse IPSW files anyway? I've renamed it to zip and extracted it. there are a few .dmg files that wont mount. I tried zipping them but they just spit out more zips. How do the devs in the JB community do it?

You have to find all of the keys using genpass and then decrypt the .dmg inside the firmware with vfdecrypt then you can access the system files.
