I jailbroke 3.1.2 a few weeks ago, the only really useful app was the backgrounder app. Are there no other alternative apps now that I can't jailbreak my itouch anymore?

Also, someone said something about the backgrounder "eating up memory." I'm a techie idiot - is that true? Would using it lower the actual memory capacity of the itouch or does it just drain the battery?

    Thank yous

If you are not Jailbroken, you are SOL i'm afraid.

Apple don't support any apps like that.

Backgrounder uses more memory if you are "backgrounding" apps because you have several apps which are running at the same time. When you close the running apps, you free up the memory again.

that's a pity =/ i liked it a lot... and I didn't background a lot of apps at the same time either, just for radio apps.
    Thank you

Try clicking restore while holding shift in itunes. You can then point it to any firmware file you want.
