This thread is meant to END many threads like one of my own!

    How to Back Up EVERYTHING!

    1. Personal files:
This is the only issue I'm not so sure,
If you have Cydia apps that have files you want to keep than transfer them manually (using iFunBox or something), else these WILL be deleted!
If you have others files in Docs folder or something do the same.
For app store Apps i'm not sure if the files are transferred to your PC with iTunes but if your not sure just do it manually also!

    2.Cydia Apps:
Using AptBackup (get it in Cydia) you'll be able to store a list of all the cydia software installed with your iTunes backup. This will NOT store any files, only a list. Then to restore install AptBackup, restore iTunes info and the use AptBackup's restore function and that should restore all your Cydia Apps.

    3.Apple Store Apps:
This is easy as you have the option to transfer purchases to iTunes in iTunes. (Right-Click iPod and select "Transfer Purchases").
    [thx 2 alex_moov001]

    4.Other Info:
Calendar, Contacts and such are stored by iTunes when you backup your iPod.

If you have any doubt just backup whatever you need manually, but that wont work for applications!

    Enjoy!

of course i haven't tried AptBackup because there isn't a JailBreak For 3.0 yet... therefore no Cydia and no AptBackup.

BUT 3.0 is supposed to support 2.2.1 apps!

You can't use apt-backup on 3.0 until it is Jailbroken.
