back light doesn't wtf!

    my backlight on my ipod touch just stopped working the sceen still works but no light >:0

    i have the same problem as you do.
    i tried adjusting the brightness and tried turning the auto brightness on and off but doesn't seem to work.

    try rebooting, if not its a hardware issue, so it would be a trip to apple

    If it's a hardware problem, you can send if back to Apple as long as your iPod touch is still under warranty. Unless you purchased extended warranty or AppleCare, your iPod touch is under warranty if you purchased it September 29th, 2007 - present.

    I'm getting the same problem I really don't want to go to the apple store. I don't want to restore either but if I have to I will. What do you guys suggest?

    Did you install something recently ?
    That might be it.
    I had SBSettings and it did that to my iPod.
    I notice your on 1.1.4 , but still.
    If you installed anything recently , uninstall it and reboot.
    That's what worked with SBSettings for me.

    I have done of of that stuff but unfortunatly my warrenty has expired and apple told me that it would cost about 200$ to get it fixed. Is there anything else I can do?

    $200 are u sure... even this page header has price of 3G 8Gb iPod.Touch which is written $181.99, u might as well buy a new one if restore doesnot work. LOL!
