    Hello.

Some of you might remember me from way back when iPod Touch's first came out.

Anyways, I am looking to get another iPod Touch because I miss the one I sold too much.

That being said, I have a couple questions.

    1. At this point in time, which iPod Touch should I purchase? 2g or 1g?

I know 2g are just beginning to get into the whole jailbreak process, but will there ever be an untethered version, where it will be easy just like 1g?

    2. What is the best overall case for the iPod Touch? I don't like hard cases and I use to have a silicon case for my 1g 8GB but it collected SO much lint/dust.

Sorry for the noobish questions..I have become quite unknowledgeable concerning matters with the iPod Touch. Also this forum is more complicated then it use to be..So forgive me if I am missing something.

    1. It all depends on what you're using the iPod and the jailbreak for. The 2G has more power and battery life than the 1G(plus external speakers).
    2. I have an ECO by DLO and I love it. If you're having a tough decision choosing one Kiks52 is the man to talk to.

To be honest, I think you should get the 2g, there is a chance that a full jailbreak will come out, it just won't be anytime soon I think.

The 2g is just better overall, speakers, can control the volume from the side, and better processor, which means it runs apps better. There is a semi tethered for the 2g which means you can reboot without a computer, but you won't have the jailbreak capiablity, until you you reboot it from a computer.

I say get the second generation.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

I am probably going to go with the 2g..The external speaker and other features really pull me towards it...How is the quality of sound on the external speaker? Can it go loud?

Also I heard something about prices going down...? If so do people know a date? Is it a good enough drop for me to wait?

I have both and dude there's no doubt you should go with the 2g. It's faster, have external speakers, looks better, and the volume rocker is a pretty good feature.

Sound in speakers is pretty LOUD, as for price drops you could wait for a refurbished form Apple, i haven't heard of any other discounts.
