My battery life sucks. comparision with my friends and mine-

    I have an 8gb touch 2g jailbroken
    he has a 16gb touch 2g jailbroken
    both on 2.2.1

btw, I know 16gb version gets a bit more battery life, but surely it isn't this much, right!? =O

    mine- his-
    75% full at beginning/85% Full

    1hr of video/1hr 20mins video
    20mins music/ n/a
    ===================

My ipod is DEAD, NO BATTERY/ 57% full

So what's wrong with my iPod!?
the battery life sux compared to his

I'm thinking about hanging on until 3.0, restore to 3.0, see how the battery life is, and if it's bad, I'll exchange it?

    what do u guys think

How long have you had it? And how often do you use it? Coz i know over time they don't work as well.

    anyways, what do you think?

I use it occasionally to check my email, listen to music @ the park, read some FML's and RSS feeds.

and sometimes play NFSU, which really eats up the battery....
But yea, I use it occasionally
Not for hrs at a time though
Maybe 10 mins at a time

    or 30mins for music

Are you leaving your Wi-Fi turned on? What is the brightness setting on the screen?

I read somewhere that the Wi-Fi burns up battery life, and if you are actually using it to listen to music or watch videos, then you should turn that off. Also, my brightness is set on about 30-40%. It is plenty bright to see everything, but saves a little on the battery.

there is lots of things which affect your battery like:

    Leaving Wi-Fi turned on
using it a lot for games each time
    watching videos lots

and most importantly the length of time you use the battery for, if you use it from 5 in the morning till 5 at night it uses a lot more than using it just quickly and then turning off

    I had my wifi OFF
and my brightness at full (screen protector makes it a bit duller, so that's why I needed more brightness)
