    Hi,
Does anyone know if itunes stops you from putting a avi file onto your ipod touch or iphone? I know you can trick it into thinking that its a .mov file by changing its file properties and then you can import it but when I try and sync it to the ipod touch it doesnt appear in my movies!!!! I guess the issue is with itunes? Anyone know?

Before anyone mentions I know that the ipod touch cant play .avi files but I was testing something out.

Just because you change it from .avi to .mov, doesn't mean that your iPod will play it. The video and audio encoding will still be different. Only thing you can do is convert your .avi videos to .mp4/mov.
