Hey, just wondering if anyone knows of an app that can poll the wifi and automatically force it to connect to any open wifi networks it sees.

I'm hoping to get this going about every 5 seconds so I can pull out my iPod while walkign down the street and have it(hopefully) already connected to a network.

Sure it would be a TOTAL drain on the battery, but WiFi toggle in SBSettings should take care of that.

In a perfect world, the app would also ping a web server on connect to see if there's internet, and if not try the next one.

The built in Apple one isn't the same as it only connects to networks from a list of ones you've connected to(which I'm sure only stores the last 10 or so)

Thanks in advance for any solutions or suggestions.

Is there any particular reason why?

I'm guessing even on jailbroken iPods the WiFi stack is relatively hard to hook into and deal with?
