You dont need any Cydia app.

    Just go to Settings
    Click General.
    Now click Auto-Lock.
    Click Never.

What do you mean, you dont have never.

    You should have:
    - 1 Minute
    - 2 Minutes
    - 3 Minutes
    - 4 Minutes
    - 5 Minutes
    - Never

If you dont, I would suggest you put your iPod into DFU Mode and restore to official 3.0 firmware. Then check to see if you have the never option.

If you do, then jailbreak with redsn0w 0.8

    this is what i have:

    - 1 Minutes
    - 2 Minutes
    - 3 Minutes
    - 4 Minutes
    - 5 Minutes

i did have the 3.0 firmware and did use redsn0w 0.8 the first time.

but i seem to be able to ssh in 5 minutes so idk if i'll re jailbreak or not.

Yea everyone should have the never option that's weird that you don't... Did you happen to set your ipod up with the company profile thing?(can't think of name) Cause that messed with a lot of my settings and i had to restore.

If you can SSH, try to change the value 5 to something like 9999 or somethings similar.

Did you update to 3.0 using official purchased firmware?
    Just curious.
