i got my 2nd gen pretty early, but recently i found out that with the casing on the auto-brightness doesn't work. after taking the casing off and looking at the top the the ipod touch. i found what appears to be the light sensor (a brown dot) in the middle of the black area, as opposed to the upper left corner where the opening on the case is.
please tell me i'm not the only guy with this issue!
i'm thinking about going to apple with this problem, but i had engraving done, and the ipod was purchased in the us(i'm currently not in the us)

does any one have any suggestions?

The 2G has the sensor in the middle. Unlike the 1g and iPhones.

    iPod 3G

The iPod 3G has the sensor on the right side, and there are no iPod 3G cases with the hole on the right side. There are only iPod 2G cases claiming to be iPod 3G cases.
