Developer: ipodtouchmaster Price: $1.49Release Date: April 29th 2012 File Size: 18 KB Cydia Source: BigbossDirect Link: http://moreinfo.thebigboss.org/moreinfo/depiction.php?file=autoappkillerDpRequirements: iPhone and iPod only, iOS 5 or later iOS 4 gave us multitasking on our iPad, iPhone and iPod. According to Apple , applications have two basic states: running and suspended. iOS tries to keep as many eligible apps running as it can hold in memory at one time; the other apps remain suspended. Opening and closing more applications can slow down the device quite a bit, especially when we forget to force quit the application. Auto App Killer doesn't remind us to close application to gain more Random Access Memory (RAM) but rather automatically quits background applications. However, Auto App Killer, has a nifty feature of allowing applications that are doing tasks in the background, be it: streaming YouTube, GPS or listening to music not to be killed when RAM is low. Armed with a slider in the iOS's Settings application, you have the choice to set how much free memory should be left before Auto App Killer takes over. Say 50 MB free and Auto App Killer will kick in and quit any background applications. Another feature with Auto App Killer is the ability to kill apps instantly when you exit out of the application, so you don't have to! Auto App Killer requires an iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5 and is not compatible with iPad (yet). This jailbreak tweak may be beneficiary on the older devices such as the 3rd generation devices. Available on the Bigboss repo for $1.49.
