    Hi Guys

There is a serious problem with my ipod touch 1g. well about 2 weeks ago i started experiencing problems with my ipod. when i would listen to a song, in the middle the audio would shut down. so i would reset it and then it would work until the same problem would happand.

Eventually this started happening more frequently (like within a few seconds). So i updated it to 3.0, thinking that was the problem.

Now me ipod is completly not playing any audio. no music, no youtube no anything. everything else works fine. I took it to the apple store and they wern't helpful bcuz my warranty has expired and they said that i should recycle my ipod and buy another ipod

    Please help me

An update (like to 3.0) doesn't replace all of your modified files. However, a restore will. This definitely seems like a software issue, so restoring it should fix it.

i restored it and it still doesnt work... the audio is completly cut- it shows the song playing but there is no sound

do you think that it may be a hardware issue?

yeah man i went there and talked to the "genius" ppl and all they did was restore it and told me to trade it in and buy a new one

i called the local apple repair shop (independently owned) and they said that there was nothing they could do

any other suggestions... before i sell this for parts and buy a nano lol

The technician said that the audio processor is f***ed... these are my options:

Repair it- costs $175 for the part
do nothing and use it only for internet
sell it for parts(get about $30-40) and buy a new ipod

What do you guys think i should do???
