    Hey,

I have had my iPod Touch 2G jailbroken now for about a month and I decided to restore back to original firmware. So, I opened up iTunes and carried out restoring it. I shift-clicked to restore to original 2.2.1 firmware. It started out fine then after about 2 minutes, on "Preparing iPod for Restore", it came up with an error and now my computer doesnt recognize the drivers for my iPod. I have tried putting it in DFU mode but it isnt working

    Any help much appreciated!

    Thanks in advanced.

I dont think anyone will help you, no one here is very experienced, and the people who are and can help you just ignore you, but I would suggest you try to use a gui or something if you have xp or 32bit vista

are you kidding me? the people here solve countless problems at this site. and hes trying to restore, so idk why he would use a gui for that...
and you just need to get the dfu timing exactly right. thats all there is too it.

Thanks for the reply, but.. What do you mean GUI? I don't need to jailbreak my iPod, I already have done I am trying to restore it back to original firmware but when I was in the process of that I got an error. Now I can't put my iPod into DFU so that iTunes recognizes and the drivers arent found.

yeah since you're going back to original firmware the only factor is getting it into DFU mode. try holding power for about 10 seconds or till the bubble pops up, then release and continue to put it into DFU mode. I count mississippies and get it within a try or two every time.

Yeah, DFU Mode is pretty annoying sometimes..
I can get it perfectly like...5 times in a row, and next time, it takes me 20 tries. Lol.
