AT&T have obviously seen the light. Probably too little to late though as they'll see an exodus of users once their exclusive contract with Apple ends.

This is great it you use apps like Skype. However, this doesn't help Google Voice as Apple is the one preventing this (they rejected their app) or streaming video apps like Slingplayer as there is no way IMO ATT is close to letting steaming video crash their network - and it would!

But, given time these things will happen too. We can only hope sooner rather than later. In the meantime apps like 3G Unrestrictor will have to do the trick!

forced baby steps for AT&T... too little too late to salvage their smashed reputation among urban iPhone users.

in theory yes. You would likely need to buy Skype credit unless you want to only call other Skype users. Also I don't even think its possible to get an iPhone without some sort of call plan.

This makes me think a little more about that rumor posted about Google Voice coming...

If they allow Skype, there's no reason for them to not let Google Voice back in.

We'll have to wait and see.
