Well there you have it. Tethering for the iPhone is finally making its debut, sometime in the near future, according to the AT&T executive.

Harry McCracken of Technologizer reports that AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph De La Vega told Michael Arrington that the iPhone will be allowed to work as a tethered wireless modem for notebooks. It will be available “soon.” Allegedly.

It’s about darn time, too. I’m sure many of you remember the application that was once added to the App Store, but was then quickly removed within 24 hours of being available for purchase, right? Looks like tethering to notebooks will once again be available.

Not much information is known at this time, for example, will rate plans increase? Will there be bandwidth caps? No one knows yet, but once we find out, we’ll be sure to let you know.

You use the connection on your phone to give you internet access on your laptop.

yeah... but if apple actually super approves it, instead of just letting it slip by, you know that it's probably gonna cost alot, and AT&T is probably going to charge a fee for usage too.
