Come on guys we all know this rumor/ fact has been going around about the possible 3g iphone purchase requires you to get a service plan. Is this true? Has the great fruit company man steve jobs told us this? This could be rumors started by apple haters, who knows, no theories im just saying everyone would want to sell there ipod touches and buy the new 3g iphone, but im pretty sure only 1/4 of the people here want to use it as a phone. While the rest wants to hacktivate it. So if anyone knows please reply and tell me the truth about this Bull

Yes, you need a service plan. The phone is subsidized, so a service plan is forcibly attached (you sign a contract at the same time as you get the phone) so that the carrier can make back the subsidy.
