    Hi All,

I'm a bit lost, as I have not touch the firmware on my ipod touch since after 1.1.3 was finally jailbroken. But I would like to upgrade now. What is the best path to go? Will I lose my settings? Are the newer versions (2.x and 3.x) still be jailbroken and are people still using those apps?

Thank you for your time and help,
    Nick

Ok great, so the process is upgrade to 3.x and lose my settings, and then use what? to jailbreak again. Redsnow?

If I were you stay where you are. 1.1.3 is the golden firmware. You are lucky to stay there. I regret updating mine.

if you really want to keep all your settings then right them down, restore, update to newest firmware, resync, and jailbreak and then re apply all your settings
it may be time consuming but it must be done

1.1.3 was a big update for the touch, but it wasn't that golden.

    1.1.3:
    -Official January App Pack
    -First Release on 32GB model
    -First "real" jailbreak. (1.1.1 = jailbreakme.com, 1.1.2 = jailbreakme.com on 1.1.1, install opktoprep, update to 1.1.2 <<I think)

    yes. 3.1.2

then use www.blackra1n.com, get the download.. easier to jailbreak than ziphone or winpwn was. jailbreak then sync all your music, vids, and photos. the best thing about 3.1.2 are apps.. loads of apps. only problem is some cost money. cydia is the new installer, installer doesnt exist anymore. dont use "icy" with cydia as it may cause problems. most people dont like rock app either.. cydia is the best way to go.. (this was probably confusing, once you jailbreak you ill understand)
anything i can do, let me know
