I have a question about upgrading firmware for ipod touch, I'm kind a confused because many kind of ipod touch and many step we can and can't do to that type of ipod touch...
so..... I want to upgrade my firmware in my ipod touch 8 Gb 3rd generation (MC model, some say that is 2.5 G).... right now my firmware is 3.1.1 and I want to upgrade it to 3.1.3.... I don't save my shsh for 3.1.3 firmware, can I upgrade it to 3.1.3?? I already download the firmware for 2g 3.1.3 (it is the correct firmware for 3rd gen 8 Gb right?)
and if there is an error in my ipod touch.... and then restore it with itunes can I still in firmware 3.1.1??

    thx for reply...

It's not 3G, it's not 2.5G, the 8GB is a 2G. Apple never gave the 8GB a third Gen revision. No, you cannot upgrade to 3.1.3, and you can only downgrade if you have your SHSH's for 3.1.1.

Just try it, because i thought for 2g's that shsh only came after 4.0? worst case scenario you have to restore to 4.1 and theres a jailbreak anyway

No, apple wont sign the restore and neither will cydia because you dont have the blobs.

If your trying to jailbreak. Restore to 4.1 and follow the tutorial in my sig.
