    Dear all,

I am planning to buy a 3G iphone here in Dubai. For all retails, they are selling the factory unlock 3G because there is no such a provider like AT&T or whatsoever here.
For almost all 3G iPhone, it comes with 2.1 software. I am afraid if later on after the updating process it remain locked. And I don't have any friends here who has the sim card to bypass the locked screen.

    So, my questions are:
    1. "Even though it says "factory unlocked", will it still remain unlock if I update it from 2.1 into 2.2?"
    2. If it is locked again by baseband, how can I unlock it without having to sign-a-new-provider's-contract sim card?

    Thank you in advance.
