Ok, well here you go....I tried to do the new software update for my touch...ok, sounds normal, yeah but I have a 2g touch, and it "seems" as if its compatible...

I cant restart the firmware, and i don't have access to another pc, as my flatmates are away...what do I do?

Oh and after this I don't mind jailbreaking it...as I can see that 2.2.1 is very restricting!

    Help!?

I am stuck in the "restore, but cant" phase..

Ok so how do I DFU?

You can just redirect me to the relevant page on the site if you wish.

Try these each one of these, one at a time, not all at the same time:
    1. Update iTunes
    2. Restart your computer
    3. Shut down your computer, unplug EVERY cable and wait 5 minutes, plug them back in (only required ones) and start up
    4. End all tasks relating to iTunes and then start iTunes back up

    Tell me how it goes.
