So as we all know, the 4G iPod touch can shoot 720p HD video. I heard from many people that each frame of the HD video is an average of 0.9mp. In certain situations, are we better off taking a short video (while holding the camera still of course) and extract a single frame from the video? Is 0.9 > 0.7 in this case?

I'm aware there's more to it than simply that. Anyone care to explain?

The video is actually an upscaled version of the 0.7mp picture rather than 0.9mp straight.

    You aren't actually gaining anything.

If you try to freeze a video you have on your computer and prt sc it won't look as good as a still picture

    Look at it that way

It is possible, if you were to pull another 0.1 megapixel out of your ass.

Besides, it's such a pathetically small difference - if it really matters, just use a digital camera.

Why was this guy "disciplined"? I don't see anything wrong with what he wrote. It didn't even come off as rude to me.

But anyways, the truth is, megapixels only indicate the size of the picture, not the quality the picture comes out in. Most people think megapixels equal quality so camera manufacturer's bank off that idea.
