Here's a picture of my iPod, 1st gen. So, i'm not sure how this happened, I turned it on today and had these huge amounts of either dead or stuck pixels.

I already tried that webapp that flashes colors and I rubbed the area with a q-tip as it was running, with no luck. Are these dead pixels?

I got this iPod off of craigslist at least a year ago, would apple replace it? I'm pretty sure there's no warranty, and I have no proof of purchase.

I'm going to restore it right now and prepare to bring it to the apple store nearby.

Apple won't replace it if its out of warranty...Sorry :/
They might take it in for repair, but you will be charged for it.

Yeah, too bad. They want me to pay $150 for a replacement because it's 2 months out of warranty. Too bad, it's still usable though

How long did you leave it on the web app?
