    Hi!

I'm going to buy an iPod touch 32GB, but read that only the versions not having "MC" in their serial number can be jailbreaked.
Now I checked the online stores and saw that all "late 2009" versions have MC in their serial. I can't find any 3rd generation iPod without it, but the jailbreaking tutorial said there are some.

Can you give me the link of a retailer selling them?

    Thanks

There's no possible proof that a specific retailer would have specific Model Numbered iDevices. :/

    However,
Your 32GB iPod Touch 3G CAN Be Jailbroken,
But it wont be Untethered, so you will need to run a Program to be able to Boot your iPod.

When you go 2 buy 1 look on the box it comes in and look for the part
number it will start with mb or mc thats all i can say.

Or if your getting it online i would ask whoever you order from.

MC means that it is 3rd Gen.
If it's not MC then it is not the 3rd Gen.
If it says MB then it is 2nd Gen.
    MA would be 1st Gen

    Well, your answers are contradicting...

Tsukoi says that it can be jailbroken, clee290 says that only MC devices are 3rd generation and I only want to get 3rd generation, and since MC can't (yet) be jailbroken, I won't be able to do it.

    And what does this mean?
So I need to connect it to my PC every time I start it? Or when does an iPod boot? Usually only after firmware update or when the battery is completely empty, right? When I just press the button on the top and the display is black, its not off but just in sleep mode and thus won't boot...
So when does it boot? And which program will I need?

Sorry if it got a little confusing.
    Let me straighten it out.
    - All 3rd Gen model numbers start with MC.
    - What Tsukoi said is right, 3rd Gens can be jailbroken.
    - 3rd Gens have a "tethered" jailbreak, meaning it needs a little push to start up. If you press the little button on the top, then it goes to sleep, so you won't need the program. But if you hold the button and slide the power slider, then it'll turn off and you'll need the program. Or like you said, your battery dies. Also some apps require you to reboot so you'll need the program then too.

    With blackra1n.
I'm assuming that message is referring to the 8gb MC models.
They call it 2G/3G because it is technically a new generation, but there is nothing actually new.
