i have an IPT 2G MC model that was just update to 4.1 and then jailbroke with greenpoison.

i had a nice theme called IOS4.0 that i used when i was on 3.2.1. i tried to use it after going to 4.1 and it doesn't seem to work. are themes backward compatible?

in a related question, i can't get a user wallpaper to show up on the springboard despite having the option checked and at the top of the list in witnerboard.

    thoughts?

you have to rename some files and move some files around
for the user wallpaper problem...have you tried downloading user wallpaper 4.0 from cydia?
and do you mean 3.1.2? 3.2.1 is for iPads

and if you do need the file names you can check this or check in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app for the file names.

Check out this tutorial on how to enable native wallpaper through plists
    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299003

You can also download, User Wallpaper 4.0, but you have to respring each time you change a wallpaper. The native wallpaper is more work, but the UI is much nicer.

Themes can be manually updated to work but its a lot of moving and renaming.

Several of the big names in themes have already updated for 4.XX

    Good Luck
