iPad 4 Are knock-off Smart Covers really that bad?

    So, I recently picked up a new iPad (retina) and didn't want to splash out £40 on a smart case, so I thought I would take the risk and order a cheap (£8) smart case from eBay, I have seen around the forums members advising people to avoid these knock offs, but, are they really THAT bad? Like £32 difference bad?

    I have a PU leather case for my mini because la Smart Cover is a huge rip off. Cost me $~10. I got cover and protection and sleep/wake function. I don't see anything wrong with those cases. You do have to think before you buy though.

    Its all preference I guess. I like my smart cover because I can just un-attach it every time I want to take it off such as I want to play a game and can just as easily re-attach it.

    There's nothing wrong with a knock-off if you aren't prepared to pay for the smart cover
