So I downloaded a book to my iPod through PDF reader, and when I tried to open up the book, the application kicked me out, and my AppStore icon was completely missing. A home screen reset yielded no results, and I really don't feel like doing a restore unless absolutely necessary. Any help, please?

    About rebooting

That was the first thing that I thought of, and I did that then (about an hour ago), and I just did that now, as well. Still no luck.

Hmm I'm not sure. Have you synced with iTunes yet? Maybe somehow it pops up if you arrange the icons in iTunes.

Well, so I tried doing a restore through my itunes in my vbox. It restored it, but then wouldn't get rid of that stupid 'plug into itunes' screen that apple just has the sense to add...grrr..

well try to see if its even on your ipod by checking the search feature on the ipod. If worst comes to worst and the restore doesnt work, you can complain and prob get a new ipod with a ( supposedly ) free gift

Well, I ended up having to go over to a friends house and finish restoring. And the closest Apple Store to where I am is about 1,300 miles away..
