I just used the exploit that came out today, slovix.com/touchfree/jb and it worked great. Then I followed the directions on how to install the apps via using an FTP client. Everything seemed to work fine, all folder permissions/transfers were set fine. I restarted the app and mail, maps, notes, etc were all there, except none of them work! I rechecked the folder permissions and they were set at 755. What gives?
    Thank you for any suggestions.

Anyone? I really am in need of some assistance since when using the automatic jailbreak to install apps always freezes when trying to connect to the iPod via the IP address, throwing a fatal error.

Make sure when you set the permissions that its set to recursive (meaning that it applies it to everything in the folder). Depending on what FTP client you're using it should be a choice that you can check (might even be labeled as apply to subfolders and files)
