Try restoring and re-syncing. If you bought the apps then everything should be okay but if they are cracked then that can happen.

No, 2.0.1 does not fix that
I still had freezing and crashing issues. I ended up having to restore...and just got rid of all these crappy free apps (I'm convinced it has to do with one of them, just don't know which)

I've heard that locking it, turning it on to the slide to unlock screen, and then letting it go black again fixes it, but it didn't work for me, I don't think. Resetting all settings fixes it but it's not worth it.

well if settings works go to settings -> general -> reset -> reset all settings

or lock your ipod then click the top button again so it comes up with the slide to unlock screen and wait till the screen turns off again. then try if it works again

    EDIT
damn everyone beats me to it:

    Maybe, and worth a shot.
I'm beginning to think, at the end of the day, that even if you can fix it, it's potentially just a short-term solution, and a sign you've got (or gonna have) problems...

As for resetting....yup, it blows, but if it fixes it, in my opinion, it is worth it. Of course, ask me after I've reset on my 10th time if I still feel the same way!
