I have an ipod touch 2G and my school has wifi, but uses an http proxy. i already entered the server and the port into the "manual http proxy" and safari works, but i get the "you are forbidden to access this website" page every time i try to go to a website like facebook or anything else. also, my apps like the itunes store, app store, youtube, and any others that require an internet connection wont update, a message just pops up and says that i'm not "connected to the server". can anyone help me bypass the school's wifi proxy settings and/or get my apps to access the internet server somehow? thanks a lot in advance!!!

The settings are filtered and managed by your school. You can't access it when you are not allowed to.

You could set up VNC on your computer and remotely access your computer from your school on your itouch/iphone and then you wouldn't have to worry about blocked websites. Only thing is it can get slow.

I use the app mocha VCN lite.

Download VNC lite on your iPod.

    Anyway, on the pc side.
    Download free vnc servers.
    Google em'.
Once you have one. Install and run. Take not of your computer's ip address. Then, make sure your firewall allows your vnc server to access the network. Or simply disable your firewall. Make sure you put a password and make sure the port you use is 5900. Then start the server.

Back to the ipod,Input your computer's ip address in your iPod in the vnc app. Eg. 192.168.xxx.xxx . Type in the password, thr port used and type in your name(client - to know if your ipod is the one who is accessing your computer)Then, save it. Click the big power icon on the app.
Tada!! You can control your computer.

If you experience any problems I am willing to help. PM me.
