When apple sells you any one of their iPod's, they should put more memory in it so that the firmware and software don't take from you memory.

    Example:
My iPod's memory is 7.08GB out of 8GB, apple should put in 8.92 GB in the 8GB model so that we can enjoy 8 GB of memory.
And so on with other capacities, anyone agree.

This issue has been around for a long long time, people wondering where the space has gone etc. But no company would add a little bit more space to compensate though, that costs money!

EDIT: And really its the memory manufacturer's fault, not Apple's.

Exactly, the more money apple spends the more they will charge. Apple is a money whore.

    Well thats not the problem.
Cause firmwares vary in partition sizes.
So you might get .92G of memory, but the next firmware could eat .93G
    Leaving you with only 7.99G.
    What a conspiracy!

Please tell me you're kidding. This is NOT the fault of Apple.

Ever bought a Hard Drive? Or checked your computer's Hard Drive?

Example: 320 GB HDD. Actual Space - 291 GB. In example of my own computer's HDD.

    Its the Numbers. The Formatting.

If anyone's to blame, its the companies making the drives. Not advertising the actual size.

yeah^^ kinda like tes said, apple isnt trying to rip you off.
They are simply STATING THE SIZE of the hard drive, not telling you how kuch is free, and they are not trying to trick you at all.

if they said it was a smaller hard drive ( to represent the amount of free space) then they would be false advertising and lose money.
