OK so I have a Jailbroken ipod touch 2g with 3.2.1 on it. I have jailbroken it when it was on 2.2.1. What I am afraid of is if my ipod needs to be fixed, will apple still fix it for me. I have been looking into this and I have been getting mixed answers. Some people say if you restore in DFU mode back to factory settings, it will be fine. But other people say that Apple has a way to tell if it has been modded. Big Boss's website says that it won't void your warrenty
But some youtube videos and other posts on forums say that they can detect it.

it doesn't void your warranty. They can't know if you have jailbroken it if you restore it on iTunes.

well they don't want you doing it so they are gonna scare people away from it by saying that they will loose their warrantee. in reality it is safe if you DFU restore apple can't detect it

Is there anyone who has sent their ipod or iphone that had been jailbroken and then restored out to apple and had it fixed with no problems?

Ya! Not me, but Abcmsaj. He jailbroke his iPhone and then the dock connector on it broke so he couldn't restore it. In the end he just sent it off jailbroken and they fixed it.

I personally have restored my iPod Touch because of a broken audio input and they fixed it no problems. Just DFU restore it.

Obviously, the Apple forums are going to tell you that it voids the warranty.

I restored mine from a jailbreak when I took it in. They ran the behavior scan tool on it, and didn't detect anything out of the ordinary (besides the broken rocker I brought it in for in the first place).
