This is a discussion thread for the "Apple TV Is Unlikely to Launch in Foreseeable Future" story posted on the front page.
I'm thinking it's got to be the first half of 2013. They have nothing else to announce now that iPads have switched to a Fall release.
People keep predicting this every year. Every year same results. Nothing. Need something more concrete to go off of.
Could we instead see some major enhancements to the current Apple TV? Maybe an app store and a few cable channels?
This is a hugely complicated deal filled was negotiations with frightened and greedy cable and satellite tv providers but if anyone can do it it would be Apple.
A more simplified way of getting channels. Better access to your devices and streaming media. Lots of stuff. Magical stuff
Simplified?! I don't know how it can get any simpler or how anybody can struggle with it now. The rest is already being done. All I can see this TV being is very expensive with an Apple logo on the front.
Voice control to change the channel? The removal of the remote control. There are plenty of ways that it can be improved on. As people get lazier TVs get simpler and vice versa
