Probably a stupid question, but i'm just wondering...
I sent in my 2G for servicing (headphone jack stuffed up)
and they've said they're going to send me a replacement ipod.
The replacement will be a 2G aswell, right?

Should be a refurbished 2g. You MIGHT get lucky and get a 3g, but don't get your hopes up.

Cant get any signal through either channel (L/R ear)
without having to bend the earphone jack, which in the
end just does more damage. Tested with different sets of
earphones and AUX outputs (plugs that go into CD players
    etc.)

lol, how'd you get a bead in there?

lol, lucky....I freaked out when my headphone jack started playing up...
I'd just bought me a pear of AKG K-55's and plugged them in and only
one channel had any signal lol...eventually there was nothing, but the
internal speaker still worked, so there was some good luck
