Hello all, this is my first post, so be gentle! On pluging in the remote I get the usual unsupported message. By touching one of the volume controls on the remote the music fades in and I can control the volume. Still no play/pause or track skip, (or radio, obviously.) Still volume's a start...

    thats really funny....
when i bought my touch, i found that the double tap home doesnt work.. it would bring up the window, but the play, and track controls wouldnt work... only volume would....
I solved this when i registered the product with apple..
try registering the remote.. worth a shot

Apple most likely won't fix the problem and it won't be fixed because the way the controls work with the iPod 5.5G and Nano are entirely different than the iPhone and the iPod Touch. I can see them releasing a new device for the iPod Touch and iPhone, but I highly doubt they will support it with a firmware fix as it may be too much of a hassle. Plus, if they have the chance to make more money off of it by making a new compatible accessory, why not?
