Isn't this going to make all our current docking stations obsolete?

As long as Hyundai can release a new cable for my Elantra I am okay with this.

I don't see why it needs to be changed... I mean, even the new Nano has it, and that's tiny.

Plus, it's aesthetically pleasing to look at on the bottom of the iPhone. If it was something as small as the speaker or mic hole, it would look weird. WEIRD I TELL YOU. O_O

I agree, they haven't changed it for quite a long time, and it still works on the tiny Nano. And they may change the design of the phone itself before this could ever be implemented, so who knows, maybe it'll look nice wherever they place it.

They need to get rid of the wire completely.
I hope they're working on that, implement it in a near future. And not just for dock connector's, but for the Macbook chargers as well. I mean, wireless is the future, and if anyone is good at bringing forth the future and innovation in a good and properly integrated way, it's Apple.

So you want them to use wireless charging? As far as i know current wireless charging technology is too inefficient to be practical.

Wireless charging and syncing IS possible, it's been done before, and pretty well too, so that would actually be really cool, for Apple to begin utilizing the technologies that allow for wireless charging, it'd give everyone else a push to start doing the same too.

There are actually some pretty good wireless charging solutions available for iDevices and other phones
