apple only headphones on the 3G???

    i read somewhere that the new shuffle only recognises the apple headphones so the superior thirs party earphones just don't work.

    i trust if this is the case it is not the same for the 3g touch?

    nah it shouldn't. the shuffle needs the apple headphones with remote to work because it doesn't have buttons for controls.

    You can use whatever headphones you want, but voice control is only capable via headphones which have built in mics. Apple tosses in a crappy pair of them so you can utilize this. They know people wanna talk into it, but they don't wanna give it a mic.
