    Just a quick question.

If Apple doesn't want us to jailbreak our iPods, why don't they say it in the EULA (or whatever) stating clearly that we ~CAN'T~ jailbreak our iPods? I am in no way against this jailbreak, just a question.

Because we are legally allowed to jailbreak our iPods... so putting that in the EULA would be a lie.

"Jailbreak" is a slang term, so they aren't just going to state "DON'T JAILBREAK THIS DEVICE" in the EULA. I'm pretty sure there's something in the EULA that says you aren't supposed to, since jailbreaking invalidates your warranty. Plus, putting something obvious and explicit in the EULA probably won't stop a single person.

EDIT: I'm not exactly sure why jailbreaking invalidates your warranty. Someone should clarify, if they know. I mean, it's obvious that it would, but where does it say that?

Then why not say "you are not allowed to install or modify the software at all costs, etc..."

You are allowed to do whatever you want to the device. But if you screw it up and it is evident that you messed up the system software, Apple has a right not to help you fix it.

Same goes for, as I say in many many other posts, Consoles. If you bork your console hacking it, you're on your own buddy.

    1. We're legally allowed to jailbreak our ipods.

    2. Nobody reads the EULA anyways.
