I just bought a new Ipod Tough 8GB yesterday. It worked fine and today my computer or Itunes don't recognize it. I re installed everything like 10 times, no luck. I found the problem, I went to look in Services. The Apple Mobile Service: Starting. I pressed right click and the options to Restart, Start, Stop are blanked out. So I stopped the service from the task manager. Then I went to Services again and I was able to right click and press start and this \/ shows up with (Starting) Also its set on Automatic not DISABLED. I have tested all the ports with my USB drive and they are working fine. The ipod don't show up in my computer or Itunes. I plugged my Ipod and went to the device manager to check if the port was working with my Ipod and it was, the port had (Apple Ipod on it). So i think the problem is the Apple Mobile device, So can someone help me out with that please?

Just did that twice, No luck. Is there a different version of itunes that work with ipod touch?

To check the service pack you are running:

Perhaps try putting the iPod in restore mode, or even DFU?
