    Wow, that was weird.

Wonder why they did that? AT&T must have agreed.

Does this mean Google Voice will be a possibility once again?

The iPad has 3G. It doesn't have a phone. Despite the fact that it is giant, this may be an appealing device for... say... phone calls. Additionally, AT&T is getting the pseudo-exclusive, built-in rights to the iPad.

It's quite possible, but the supposed reason why they rejected it was not because it was VoIP.

AT&T actually said they didn't care if GV was on the iPhone.

    What is VoIP? Sounds important.

so with this, in theory if you had micd headphones you could use an ipod touch to make calls over wifi, same with iphones so they dont use up minutes
quality of these calls is probably questionable but still its cool stuff like this is starting to happen. maybe apple will start being a little more flexible with their other "rules"

They don't have rights to it, in fact Apple expressly said that it could be used on any SIM-based carrier. It's just that you get the best discount with AT&T. At least that's what I got out of it.

You should edit this before packs of people come asking if the ipod touch now has 3G
