Reports are now swirling in the interwebs (Bloomberg and All Things Digital) of Apple's "confirmed" buyouts talk of music streaming site Lala. So what does this mean? Are apple interesting in a free music streaming feature? Would it compete with Spotify? Would it come to iPods/iPhones in a future firmware update?

Although, it could be nothing, apple could be getting rid of competition, albeit, some small competition.

What are your thought on this?

Just because you buy Lala, doesn't mean the new Lala has to be the same as the old Lala.

It could have a 50-cent per week charge, or something like that. You never know...

Google have YouTube... maybe Apple are trying to bite back with something better.. I mean, on YT you can have music videos which are free! Buttttt some are censored or deleted from YouTube. This might not happen on a music streaming site?

Well, personally, I think that Apple shouldn't fight YouTube. I mean, after all, they have an app for it on the home page, preloaded onto every device they sell...

But still, it'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

I think Apple is more interested in the streaming frameworks of Lala to integrate into the iTunes Store.

    Fixed.

I don't think Apple really need a music streaming service. :\
