Apple Hiring Former Google Maps Staff to Help its Own Maps

I actually used the new Maps app yesterday for turn-by-turn the first time on my iPhone 5 and it worked really well. No problems whatsoever. Hopefully it stays that way

Same for me, turn-by-turn works extremely well for me (equal if not better than my satnav). That's why I don't understand why people are so pissed about it - the satellite images cannot be so important as long as the cards work well.

Read a news site that says Google hire about 7,000 people just to work on Google Maps. Apple won't have anywhere near this many. Apple Maps, forever alone.

They'll need as many people as they can get.

I used an iPad for turn by turn just to test it out. Apple maps said to turn on a road that's not even there. Not good. Even the sat images showed a road that is not there. Idek how that's possible.

I have used it a few times too without issue

Did the map ever go to a blank grid while driving?

Not once- worked flawlessly.
